China Aims to Censor International Web Sites via Internet Attacks
News Limited, a Rupert Murdoch company in Australia, has reported a pattern of politically motivated attacks on its web sites originating from China. These are distributed denial of service (DDOS) attacks designed to overwhelm the company’s web servers or otherwise impair their ability to serve content to Internet users.
