About

Our Purpose

Free speech is inherently important. People should bend over backwards to allow it, even if it upsets some of them.

We started FreeJabber to provide a free place for people to create blogs to discuss difficult topics such as civil rights violations, government corruption and abuse, and so forth. We also planned over time to offer technical information for people interested in free speech and computer security issues such as virus and malware protection, how to search and visit web sites anonymously, and how to set up websites to reduce the risk of them being hacked and attacked.

Unfortunately, what happened was our site was overrun by spammers who posted endless blogs about handbags, Viagra, and even links to porn despite our clear statements that we wanted to avoid anything to do with porn.

After months of fighting against the storm of spammers, we simply shut down new sign-ups and purged the site of most of the garbage they had posted.

This time around, we’re going to maintain tighter control over the content. If you’re interested in promoting free speech and want to write for this site, please email us at [email protected]

Terms of Use

We expect people to exercise some self-control, meaning don’t use the site for criminal activities, terrorism, identity theft, or similar ill-intentioned endeavors.

We do intend to delete spam. We’ve read enough about Viagra and other drugs for a lifetime and don’t want to see the site polluted with advertising for yet another black market source for phony drugs.

Initial comments by a new poster will be moderated. This will help us keep spammers and criminals away.

Remember that even when free speech is allowed as we intend to do, being an ass about it isn’t likely to win you any points in a debate.
